Feeling like you could sure use a makeover just about now? If a trip to the salon is not possible (whether through time or budget constraints, or a combination of both) then the next best thing you can do is to indulge in a beautifying home spa. Here are five easy steps to go about it. Follow it to reveal a glowing and more beautiful you!
Step 1: Make a Hair Mask
Make a homemade hair mask of avocado, honey and olive oil (run it through the blender or food processor to achieve a smooth and consistent paste). Apply it all over your hair and cover with saran wrap. Leave it on until the end of step 2.
Step 2: Do a Scrub Down
You will need two kinds of all-natural scrubs for this – a ground coffee granules scrub and a honey, sugar and salt scrub. Use the coffee granule scrub on areas such as your tummy, thighs, buttocks and anywhere else that may have cellulite on it. Coffee has a cellulite-diminishing property, so when you rinse this off you will notice that your cellulite appears less obvious. For the other parts, use the honey, salt and sugar scrub. The salt will dry out any wounds or blemishes like pimples, the sugar will exfoliate your dead skin cells and honey locks in the moisture. Let the scrubs sit on your skin for ten minutes before rinsing it out, along with the hair mask that you had on.
Step 3: Steam and Exfoliate Your Face
Prepare a bowl of steaming hot water and add a few drops of essential oils that you like. Put your face in the direction of the steam and make a tent with a light towel. Do this in 2-3 minute intervals for fifteen minutes, replacing the water as needed if steam is no longer as strong. When you’re done, lightly exfoliate your face with the same honey, salt and sugar scrub. The steam will open up your pores for you to better scrub out those dead skin cells off. Rinse your face and pat gently with a fluffy towel.
Step 4: Bathe and Shave
Have your regular cleansing bath, but this time up the ante with your favorite shower gels and shampoos to uplift your mood. While in the shower, shave your legs and underarms to all the more feel pampered.
Step 5: Do A Simple After-Bath Routine
Once out of the shower, slather on your favorite lotion on your newly buffed and glowing skin. On your face, apply a thin coat of nourishing beauty oil (one to try: rosehip oil for its amazing beauty benefits). Cover your feet with foot cream and cover with socks. Apply a deep-moisturizing balm on your lips to wake up to soft kissers. Don’t forget to trim your eyebrows, for they make a world of a difference in how you look even without makeup. In the morning, you will find yourself waking up to a more rested and decidedly more beautiful you – with glowing skin, shiny hair, and a smooth, rosy face!
